I kneel at the altar, and quietly wait
Warm strength of bread, cold fire of wine
Your body and blood given for food
As I relinquish myself, Your life becomes mine

Consuming You, I am consumed
The fire of blood-wine burns on my tongue
You consume me, and burn within me
Like fire from water, consuming, You come

As You consume, You consummate
Completing me through Your fiery meal
Now consummate, consecrate
And keep me forever in Your will.
